Cumbersome Compendium

As I write this Dandelion Wine are touring Europe... and having caught these guys live I can tell you that Europe is damn lucky to have 'em... this limited double-CD release marks a transition point of Dandelion Wine... it combines their debut album with an EP of remixes and new tracks, clearly identifying where they've been and where they're going... and the trail is well worth the donkey-ride... let's start with the album... there is a barrage of guitar ilk instruments of unknown age and origin being played with the exact precision of trained mistrals who are now long dead... there's the wonderfully double-bladed voice of Naomi, soothing yet bombarding your senses, pounding into your subconscious, digging up dirt long forgotten and dissolving it like an analgesic... and there is hell of a lot of movement... it can be ethereal, it can be gothic, it can be poppy, it can rock out totally unexpectantly... all bases are covered, which probably explains the movement towards rejiggered.... for this EP redefines Dandelion Wine as a consistent amalgamation of sounds- both ancient and futuristic... this is the music of Gods, of cultures more sophisticated and evolved then we could ever hope to understand... the resonance is one of Zen... presented with the yin-yang balance of digital and analogue components... ownership is essential...
